Red, White & Blue Revue Production of "A Night on Broadway' Scheduled
The theme for this year's Red, White, and Blue production was "A Night on Broadway". Members of the PHS A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers and Advanced Treble Choir performed a number of musical selections from Broadway including such favorites as "Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz, "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from The Sound of Music, "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid, "Come So Far" and "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray, "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun and "Fugue for Tinhorns" from Guys and Dolls.
The 33rd annual production dates were May 8-10 in the PHS auditorium. Also, the A Cappella choir will compete in the Anaheim Choral Festival in Anaheim, Calif., on May 17.
The Plainview High School A Capella Choir brought home three sweepstakes at the UIL Concert and Sightreading contest. All three A Capella groups received first division ratings from all three judges in both concert and sightreading.
